Council’s Conservation Reserves Officer, Simon Purves will lead a Koala Count at Hanging Rock. Come along as a citizen scientist to walk the Hanging Rock grasslands or summit on the look out for Koalas.

Bring your smartphone, and learn how to contribute to Hanging Rock Reserve’s biodiversity data via the iNaturalist Australia app.

What you need to know:

  • Please arrive 15 minutes early.
  • This event requires a moderate level of fitness, as we will be on steep and /or uneven ground.
  • Please bring water and snacks. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear.
  • The meeting point is at the drinking water tank close to the cafe.
  • These walks are weather-dependent. We may cancel an event at short notice due to severe weather conditions such as extreme fire danger, wind and rain. We will give you as much notice as possible.
  • Numbers are very limited and bookings are essential.
